I will explain here why I do not support CDS for Various reasons, and Why I have major problems with CDS, and other systems like it.

1. CDS Does Violate the LAW, SL Privacy Policy, and can be used as a DataMining, and store your IP Address without your consent, and possibly other Identifying Information if they wanted to Geo Locate a person. This system has a Privacy Policy which is shown on the SL Market Place sales, but I did not agree to it, nor Have I ever done business with Skills Hak, and since I never purchased his product under the SL Privacy Policy it would be considered illegal to use such a system without consent on me, and against the California Privacy Act. As far as people making claims the system illegally scans your entire Hard Drive, I would not believe that, but based on what I have seen it was possible to see the Directory the viewer was stored in, and store IP Address, Your Version of Windows, Viewer Info, and such.

2. Why am I Angry at the CDS Specifically?

When CDS first came out I was 100% in support of CDS, and thought it would be a great system to help our creators. Every since Thieves MotherLoad, I have had issues with Copybotters joining my RolePlay groups and distributing stolen content, and even Copybotters inside our RP groups. Anyways I was invited to an Anti Copybot group, a place where creators report Stolen Content, and I saw the CDS, and asked questions about it, and then I discovered my friend had the CDS system on his region set to Ban,Eject,TP Home,ETC. I went to the region to test it, and I was not detected by CDS at all, So I saw Lonely BlueBirds name, aka PH0X who is banned from SL, and was part of the Emerald Developers who did the DDOS attack, etc, and I imed him and asked him why I was not banned by the CDS system, and gave info on what Viewer I was using, ETC, and the Next day I find that he manually added my name to the CDS ban system, and I was banned from every CDS region without reason, I had no way to appeal my ban, because Skills Hak’s appeal system is a Joke which does not get responded to, The Im’s they are sent dont get responded to either, Notecards, ETC. all Ignored. Two other friends were also banned and falsely detected with Emerald, and are not being removed from the CDS system, and this is the reason I dont support the system.

3. Okay so does CDS really protect creators, and about the Copybot?

CDS Might protect your stores from Little Kids, or Unskilled Copybotters, but fact is over 90% of the thefts occur at Clubs within Second Life, and Sandboxes. A skilled Copybotter usues a Regular Viewer, such as Second Life, Logs in goes and buys Legal items, and then Goes to tehir home point, logs into A copybot and clones everything, and shares the stolen items with other people on cheat blogs, etc, no way for LL to track, and detect this really. Then they download what they want to, and it turns into an Information exchange, and then that person imports them with their illegal viewer spoofs names, etc, and then logs out, clears all Cache Data, everything viewer data, etc. Logs into Second Life by Linden Lab, and the user just avoided the CDS system.

There are many ways to get around the CDS system, and Any other Copybot protection System.

1. As Said Above.
2.By Disablind Media/Blocking Hosts File, ETC. All it takes is one alt account, and a proxy, and getting banned to find out what URL he is sending the info from then Blocking it by hosts file, and making a new alt, and gonig back.
3. Using a copybot viewer cloning stuff in your name, using a legit viewer like Inventory Backup, or Hippo Viewer to transfer to other grids no one ever notices.
4. Image Hacker/HM Modeler Sold On SL Market Place
5. Stealing sounds with sound Recorder, Snapshots, or GL Intercept.
6. The are other ways to I am sure I just cant think of them at the moment.
7. CDS wont Protect sharing or distribution of illegal content, or copying from the following.
Torrents, Xstreet/SL Market Place, Sandboxes, or other regions not using the CDS system & Such, as all it takes is a single right click, and copy the entire avatar. Also those anti Inspect shields do fail to work, as you toggle hide selected right click on the avatar and can still Copybot the entire thing.

Copybotting In General.

Copybotting is not against the LAW, But it is not right, I will explain.

1. Many of our creators in SL Violate Real Life Trademarks as we all know, this is agains the LAW, by uploading content, or any data to SL Servers you are giving Linden Lab certain rights under that TOS. IF I copybot your build for example and it is just 100% Default prims I violated the TOS, but I did not violate the LAW, as LL owns full Trade Marks on all basic prims. If I copybotted a House, or Object with your textures spoofed the name, I would not be breaking the Law either but I would be breaking the TOS, and this is because I am simply pointing my Objects in World to Load, and Use you UUID Keys, which you uploaded by Linden Lab, and in a court/LAW you can’t prove I even did such other than what I say, so chances are you would not win against me. However what is illegal, is if I take your work, Download it to my pc without your consent, and then Reupload it to another grid, or back to SL, then you can sue me, and have legal proof, although back in 2009 It was possible to spoof Creators on uploaded textures,scripts ETC. most of these exploits were sealed during Thieves Mother Load.

4. I support the CCA, and the Creators that Do Not USE CDS, or any other privacy Violating System.

All Creators not using CDS, or any other privacy violation I will glady assist in reporting all stolen content I see within world, no matter when, and where. Those using CDS like Gothicatz, or CK Winx, I could care less what others do to you in world its your problem deal with it, I just won’t get involved with it because of your attacks against me, and saying I am a Copybutter by using CDS, and accusing my friends of such by using CDS. This system has divided our community, and I will not support any privacy Violating system.

5. The reason I have not got onto Zfire in WORLD, or in Debates yet.
He has not illegally stored, or logged any information of mine without my consent, and In fact he does know that I did use an illegal viewer in the past because I talked to him, and his friend who was copybotted. I cant agree with his system and the way it works so I wont support it, but I wont say anything personally myself unless he stores, or does anything to me without my consent in World.

6. I Do Reguardless of Being able to Copybot, Knowledge of Open SL, or anything even if Copybot is not breaking the Law, I personally will not steal from creators in Second Life because I find it wrong to do.

7. (API) Application Program Interface)
Even if a item self Deleted on Rez, or if the person had a copybot viewer, or was detected on a copybot viewer, you could still rez the item in world on the ground in a no script zone, and copybot it, or Copybot it off of a person within world.

8. A Legit Anti Theft system I would actually support is this.

1. A system which after you teleport into a region you are kicked from that region, and sent a Notecard upon your first time of entering the region. You will then be sent a Notecard explaining why you were kicked, and etc. Instantly, and be prompted to make an account on a website if you wish to shop any of the protected regions. By making an account, you have access to a Community,BLOG,etc, and you can see what Regions you are banned from, what regions have the system in place, and you can appeal in public on a public forum, and be given all details of why you were banned including view your own debug log, and such stored on the server. Once you sign up you are required to touch a Kiosk in world, and confirm you identity, etc. Once this is done, then you are given a hud which you have to wear, and under the SL Privacy Policy if you use a service, or a system by someone else you are giving legal consent that they can log your IP Address, and such for tech. purposes. After that it explains in the Notecard how the system works, what info it collects, legal privacy policy, etc, and to be scanend you have to have your media on within SL, and consent to scanning. If not as soon as you enter the region if you are not detected with the HUD/Media on, your avatar is instantly kicked from the sim, if you are detected on a Harmful viewer, there is a community to appeal, and any Reputable Content creator such as Truth Hawks, the Admins, or such could remove a ban from you, and there would be balance of power, not a dictatorship, and open to abuse like Skills Hak.

Anyways Skills Hak has abused a lot of stuff including False DMCA on videos, which I counter filed on mine for fair use, and because LL gives certain rights, and owns all data uploaded to LL servers, although I removed his product image from my video, and Re posted info later on it just to be on the safe side. This is another reason I can’t support this person in Second Life with Such a system. Now I can say this person does create a lot of stuff, because I used to look around on Insilico all the time, and Shop there for items, and such. But what I can say is that Since CDS was installed, and because of all the blog Debates I have had, I don’t even want to go to insilico Because if I am not banned from there I don’t want to be, and I don’t want to start a bunch of crap with Skills in World. All I can say is that CDS in the current state it is it also does break TOS under defame residents in world by Sending Green Messages, BOB THE AVATAR MIGHT BE A COPYBOTTER!!!, and with his decline to get hold of me in world, or such I really just cant support such a system.

Also anyone using Such API Do disable any product I have purchased in world, I will first attempt to contact the creator to remove the block, and if they refuse I will ask for a Refund. If they refuse that I will contact Linden Lab, and if that fails I will get a Lawyer Real Life. I could Care less how much I paid for the item, or whatever, I do know my legal rights, and I will use them including Free Speech.
